Gallery 2: The Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich

The Society's  permanent gallery in the centre of Ipswich with a changing display of members work, open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. Each month there is a focus on the work of a particular maker or group of makers.   More

40 Years On - Aldeburgh Summer Exhibition 2010

The 39th Annual Exhibition of the Suffolk Craft Society started on Sunday 18th July at the Peter Pears Gallery in Aldeburgh.  This is the annual showcase for the finest and most recent work made by members.

Studio Visits: March, April and May 2010

The Friends of the Society organised three studio visits and invite anybody who was interested to attend. Firstly to woodcarver Tom Staddon, then willow weaver Jo Hammond and finally to the joint studio of silver-smith Rod Kelly and jeweller Sheila MacDonald.


'A Box of Delights' - Christmas in Gallery 2

From November 7th to December 24th the society's permanent gallery in Ipswich celebrates its third Christmas with 'A Box of Delights' - a feast of Christmas gifts and fabulous exhibition pieces.

ORIGIN Craft Fair Visits: 11th October 2009

The Friends of the Society arranged an outing for Friends', Makers'  and  anybody else who is interested to visit ORIGIN, one of the Crafts Council's premier fairs at Somerset House, London.

Studio Visits: 6th September and 23rd Septemebr

The Friends of the Society organised two studio visits and invite anybody who was interested to attend. First to Helen Brown and Paddy Peters Old Piggery Pottery in Needham Market and secondly to Danielle Hopkinson and Ian Davis Stained Glass Studio in Ipswich.

Ahoy! - Annual Aldeburgh Summer Exhibition 2009

The 38th Annual Exhibition of the Suffolk Craft Society starts on Sunday 19th July at the Peter Pears Gallery in Aldeburgh.  This is the annual showcase for the finest and most recent work made by members. All work is for sale and the exhibition includes a shop area.

Christmas Exhibition: The Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich 2008

From 8th November untill Christmas eve the gallery is festively decorated and laid out for selling work suitable for Christmas gifts alongside some selected exhibition pieces.

Ebb & Flow: Annual Aldeburgh Summer Exhibition 2008

Held in the Peter Pears Gallery over July and August the 2008 exhibition was based around the theme of Ebb and Flow.  This is the annual showcase for the finest and most recent work made by members. All work is for sale and the exhibition includes a shop area.

Cornhill Christmas Show, Ipswich 2007

The Suffolk Craft Societie's Annual Christmas exhibition comes to Ipswich. A feast of affordable and unique gift ideas, jewelery, ceramics, glassware, textiles, prints and much, much more. For the very best in design-led contemporary crafts in East Anglia visit Gallery 2 for that original, one-off present.

John Jacob Young Makers' Programme 2007

In memory of John Jacob  - Chair of the Society for 23 years – this educational project has been about giving young people the opportunity to be introduced to crafts under the guidance of professional makers. This year the project has taken the form of makers residencies in several Suffolk schools culminating in an exhibition at the Longshop Museum in Leiston and Gallery 2, Ipswich. More
