Friends of the Suffolk Craft Society
The Friends are an important part of the Society. We are a group of people keen to support the work of craftspeople and our loyalty and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.
Our subscriptions help to fund equipment for exhibitions and directories. We provide grants to makers who need to replace or repair their equipment and an annual Bursary raffle during the summer exhibition provides a fund to help makers to extend their skills. This year the Friends gave generously to a fund set up to enable Society members to participate in educational work for children.
Many Friends also assist in practical ways by helping to supervise exhibitions and workshops. This kind of involvement in the Society is an invaluable help to the Society.
By joining as a Friend you will receive regular newsletters, a directory, invitations to private views and an invitation to the AGM lunch, a chance to meet makers. You will also receive an invitation to special preview evenings for exhibitions and an opportunity to join any visits being planned. We have had successful visits to the Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the V&A and to Origin, the London Craft Fair. The Friends also offer half day visits to members' studios for talks and demonstrations.
The annual subscriptions are £15.00 single and £25.00 double. We would be very happy if you would join us.
